Tachyon features a revolutionary dual-core design with polyolefin inner core strands surrounded by an energy absorbing nylon core. This new Flexfirm™ Core Technology results in a lightweight 11.5mm climbing line that stays firm and round while permitting spliced eyes in one or both ends of the line using a double-braid splice. Tachyon performs well in popular hardware designed for use with 11mm ropes. Tachyon’s firm yet flexible design and superior strand definition in the 24-carrier polyester sheath significantly improves friction hitch performance without the “bagginess” that occurs with other 11mm ropes. The inner core keeps the diameter constant, even under load, for improved grip with less hand fatigue and without the added bulk and weight of half-inch ropes. Easily spliced. Other features include: Low stretch at low loads for less bounce while climbing, high stretch at high loads to minimize impact in the event of a fall, maintains diameter while climbing for improved grip.
